Disney made money off its streaming business for the second time in a row. During Q4 2024, profit from Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus soared to $321 million, up from $47 million last quarter.

Disney stock rallied after its streaming unit, home to Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, swung to a profit after years of heavy investment. Shares were recently about 6% higher, putting Disney on pace for its largest one-day gain since February,

After launching Hulu on Disney Plus in March for US subscribers, Disney will roll out its ESPN hub on the streaming service on Dec. 4, CEO Bob Iger shared during the company's fourth-quarter earnings call on Thursday.

Disney plans to add an ESPN tile to Disney+ on December 4, giving subscribers to its “trio” streaming bundle access to ESPN+ content when they are on Disney+. The move is similar to what the company did with Hulu earlier this year.

The addition is part of the company’s plan of to bring a full sports offering to Disney+ and to launch ESPN’s DTC offering in fall of 2025
